SHARE A BOOK Giveaway

I believe strongly that word-of-mouth is the way that most books are discovered by readers. This giveaway takes that one step further: it’s a SHARE A BOOK Giveaway.

Here’s how it works:

  1. FREE BOOKS: I give away 5 copies of Open Minds (paperback)
  2. GIVE IT AWAY: Each winner agrees to GIVE AWAY their copy (please read it first!). They can give it to a friend (yay!), a teen who will enjoy the book (double yay!), or bestow it upon a stranger at the Starbucks (if you’re feeling frisky). But you MUST SHARE THE LOVE. (
    It’s like Rock The Drop all over again! )
  3. BOOKMARKS: Along with each book, I will include 5 fancy schmancy bookmarks which have a SNEAK PEEK of the Closed Hearts cover. Each time the book is passed on, someone gets to keep a bookmark! The fifth person can either keep the book (as well as the bookmark) or pass it on again. (Don’t worry, I’ll include instructions.)
It’s like a Book Tour, where the book actually tours!
If you’ve already read Open Minds, you can win a copy to give to a friend (since you can’t keep it anyway)! If you haven’t read it, then here’s your chance!

  6. After I read it, I would give it to The Friends of the Niles Public Library. They sell books to raise money to buy new books or to pay for events at the library.

  8. This is an awesome idea. Sort of like "Pay It Forward" for books! I would probably pass it onto the Thomas Ford Library- they have a volunteer group who hold book sales and events to raise money for the library- very similiar to what Anne was talking about. Great idea, thanks for the giveaway.

    • Awesome! That's exactly what I had in mind with this too – that people who had already read it, in whatever form, would have an easy way to "share." πŸ™‚

  13. PS–I would bring it with me to the SCBWI retreat here in Oregon in October, where it would be given away as one of the door prizes at the end!

  15. This is a really great idea! I work at a library and in charge of the teen programs, so I would give it to one of the teens there who could give it to their friends from school.

  16. Love this idea! If I win, I would like to give Open Minds to my local library. I live in a really small town with an even smaller library and an almost nonexistent Young Adult section. I know the teens here could use new stuff to read, so this would be perfect for that πŸ™‚

I know quite a few book lovers at my blog who would love to read it! we have a teacher book swap in our resource room just for us teachers who are book lovers πŸ˜€ I have tweeted the giveaway and plan on putting a post about it on my blog after I get home from work! πŸ™‚ lovely idea for a giveaway!

  22. I would pass on this book to my awesome cousin Natalie! We read/are in love with the same books. Sadly, We don't live close to each other, and she doesn't have any way to read Openminds. πŸ™ I would love for her to experience this great book just as I have^_^

    • Has your cousin tried downloading the Kindle or Nook apps for her computer? Or her phone? Or her iPod? It's amazing how many ways there are to read ebooks these days!

  26. I would give the book to my daughter, after that all of her friends would read it. Every time my daughter gets a new book it goes from hand to hand πŸ™‚ and after that I think I would donate it to her school library so every student that want to read the book the would be able to.
