I believe strongly that word-of-mouth is the way that most books are discovered by readers. This giveaway takes that one step further: it’s a SHARE A BOOK Giveaway.
Here’s how it works:
- FREE BOOKS: I give away 5 copies of Open Minds (paperback)
- GIVE IT AWAY: Each winner agrees to GIVE AWAY their copy (please read it first!). They can give it to a friend (yay!), a teen who will enjoy the book (double yay!), or bestow it upon a stranger at the Starbucks (if you’re feeling frisky). But you MUST SHARE THE LOVE. (
It’s like Rock The Drop all over again! ) - BOOKMARKS: Along with each book, I will include 5 fancy schmancy bookmarks which have a SNEAK PEEK of the Closed Hearts cover. Each time the book is passed on, someone gets to keep a bookmark! The fifth person can either keep the book (as well as the bookmark) or pass it on again. (Don’t worry, I’ll include instructions.)
(p.s. open to US/Canada only)

What a terrific idea! I love passing on books! Off to tweet.
Thanks Laura!
I'd love to share it with a follower of our blog!
Great idea! If you win, I can send it straight to your follower (unless you want to read it first!) π
Awesome idea. Totally. And if I won a copy, I would love to share it with my daughter, who would no doubt share it with her friends!
~JD
That sounds perfect! π
Great idea! I have a few ideas, blog, a friend's teen girls.
Awesome! I love those ideas! π
I'm a big fan of this book. I recommend it all the time.
THANK YOU so much Theresa! People like you, spreading the word, are a huge part of the success of the book!
After I read it, I would give it to The Friends of the Niles Public Library. They sell books to raise money to buy new books or to pay for events at the library.
That sounds like an awesome way to share! π
Aw, Sue, I'm all over this! I already have my copy of your fabulous story, so it would be an honor to gift a copy to someone else. Me thinking high school library… ;D
Oh! That would be awesome! π
This is an awesome idea. Sort of like "Pay It Forward" for books! I would probably pass it onto the Thomas Ford Library- they have a volunteer group who hold book sales and events to raise money for the library- very similiar to what Anne was talking about. Great idea, thanks for the giveaway.
I love the libraries! Great idea!! π
I'd love to send it to my friend in different states, but I would also like to share with the my sister and her mother in law.
Lauren
Yay! Sounds like you'll get the full 5 passes out of it! π
Super idea!! Love it. I have a Kindle copy, but would love to give away a "hard" (paperback) copy. π
Awesome! That's exactly what I had in mind with this too – that people who had already read it, in whatever form, would have an easy way to "share." π
I would give my copy to a teenage friend at my church who likes to read.
Perfect! Thanks for entering! π
I would give my copy to my friend, Terry to read. Thanks for the giveaway. Tore923@aol.com
Awesome! Thanks for stopping by to enter!
PS–I would bring it with me to the SCBWI retreat here in Oregon in October, where it would be given away as one of the door prizes at the end!
Even better! π
What a fabulous idea! I'd pass it along to my friend Erin.
This is a really great idea! I work at a library and in charge of the teen programs, so I would give it to one of the teens there who could give it to their friends from school.
Perfect! I would love to see the book in the hands of more teens! π
Love this idea! If I win, I would like to give Open Minds to my local library. I live in a really small town with an even smaller library and an almost nonexistent Young Adult section. I know the teens here could use new stuff to read, so this would be perfect for that π
How cool would it be to have it in the YA section of your library!
What fun! I'd love to share this book with my daughter.
Fun and clever way to market! That's awesome. Pass the love!
Thanks Lisa!
I know quite a few book lovers at my blog who would love to read it! we have a teacher book swap in our resource room just for us teachers who are book lovers π I have tweeted the giveaway and plan on putting a post about it on my blog after I get home from work! π lovely idea for a giveaway!
Thanks so much for spreading the word! And I love the idea of sharing with teachers! I've got a few teachers/librarians that have copies of the book and share it with their students! π
I loved this book and I can think of several people that I'd like to give the book too! π I'm in!
Awesome! And thanks so much for your kind words!
I have no problem passing on books, I do it all the time! This is great!

Awesome! Thanks for entering! π
I would pass on this book to my awesome cousin Natalie! We read/are in love with the same books. Sadly, We don't live close to each other, and she doesn't have any way to read Openminds. π I would love for her to experience this great book just as I have^_^
Has your cousin tried downloading the Kindle or Nook apps for her computer? Or her phone? Or her iPod? It's amazing how many ways there are to read ebooks these days!
Awesome. I'd give it away on my blog to spread the word.
Fun! I have lots of friends I'd like to pass it on to, but I wanted to keep mine too much. Count me in!
Very innovative, Susan! I'll tweet!!
I would give the book to my daughter, after that all of her friends would read it. Every time my daughter gets a new book it goes from hand to hand π and after that I think I would donate it to her school library so every student that want to read the book the would be able to.
That sounds perfect!
I have a neighbor who loves to read like me and I think I would start there π What a wonderfully fun idea!
Very clever idea, Susan. π I loaned the copy you sent me to someone in my writer's group. Now I have to hope she gives it back before your sequel comes out so I can reread it.
You rock, Sue! Fantabulous idea!
I'd like to share this book with my oldest daughter.
Susan, this is an amazing way to get the word out about your book. Love this idea!!!
I'd love to pass it on to my friend who loves to read.
My best friend loves these types of books. I'm planning on giving it too her as a birthday present if I win. I know she'll love it!

-martha

Very nice idea. I'm going to give it to a friend.
I LOVE this idea & I'd give a copy to my little sister who is 23 now and just really started reading awesome books! π
What a cool idea! I would share it with my sister-in-law!
What an awesome idea Sue! I loved OPEN MINDS so much and I would love to share it with my younger cousin who loves YA books as much as I do!
π Aeicha
my sister and I swap and when have both read one we "read it forward" to someone else.
I love this idea. I would pass it along to a coworker who when she is done with it would probably pass it on to one of her daughters.
sweetreaderma@comcast.net
I would give to my granddaughter, so she then can pass on to her friends!

Great idea….I keep recommending Open Minds to friends… (PS: I can't wait until the sequel comes out!)
What a fab idea! I'm in the UK so can't enter, but I'll be watching!
Yay, Susan! The QUEEN of getting the book out there! You rule. I want to give my copy to Jordan Parks (friend's teenage daughter, who loves to read!) π <3
I love this! What a great idea for a giveaway!
I would hand Open Minds to the voracious readers in my classroom. They get a kick out of reading "new" books.
my cousin we are the readers of the family
I would give it to my school library!!! No question. π
Love all your promotional ideas, Sue. I'm keeping notes for the day I finally decide to plunge into self-publishing. If I had a copy of Open Minds to give away, it would make the rounds in the Laie Young Writer's Club.
Hi!
I follwed your link here from the eBook experience on facebook. If I win, after I read it I plan to mail it out to my cousin in Maryland or a friend in Indiana…it will travel to different states :0)
Awesome blog! Do you have any tips for aspiring writers?
I'm planning to start my own blog soon but I'm a little lost
on everything. Would you propose starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid
option? There are so many options out there that I'm completely confused .. Any suggestions? Many thanks!

Unquestionably believe that that you said. Your favorite
justification appeared to be at the net the easiest thing to take note of.
I say to you, I certainly get annoyed at the same time as other people think about concerns
that they just do not realize about. You controlled to hit
the nail upon the highest as neatly as defined out the whole
thing without having side effect , people can take a signal.
Will probably be again to get more. Thanks
